I'm making changes, so my two very short stories previously published through Breathless Press are no longer available.
Thanks.

Off the market
Awakening the Blood, my erotic paranormal is off the market. The contract is up, but I won't be republishing the story, at least, not the way it is. I might change the story, take out the crappy parts, and turn it into what I had originally meant it to be, a young adult story of all things.
We'll see.
That's waaaay down the road.
I'm still trying to get Tess' Trio finished and submitted, but I haven't written anything in over a month. That will change in about two weeks when my son goes to school and I have the afternoons to figure it all out.
Currently I'm working full time on cover art and loving it! My next plan is to publish some of my own stories.

Interview with Erotic Romance Author JC Holly
Today I have erotic romance author JC Holly as a guest. Along woth an interview JC has agreed to hold a giveaway for one copy of One Wild Weekend to one person who leaves a comment.

Blurb:
Fantasies become reality for one couple as they share a wild and sexy weekend
Bobby and Chris' relationship is starting to stagnate. They're constantly bickering, and haven't had sex in weeks. On hearing this, Bobby's assistant suggests they take a long weekend to explore each other's sexuality—though she uses rather different wording - and work on each other's fantasies.
As luck would have it, Chris' friend is out of town on a business trip, and agrees to let them use his cottage up in the hills. Gorgeous surroundings, a horny boyfriend, and an agreement between them to make the others' sexual dreams come true. What more could a girl want?

Hi JC, thanks for being my guest.
First off, do you have any latest news? Book releases, plot ideas?
JC - I have a new release coming out with Total E-Bound on August 1st, titled Succubus Seduction, and I have a few new projects that I'm working on when I find the time.
What initially inspired you to become an erotica/romance author?
JC - At first, it was curiosity. I had never written anything other than straight romance, and wanted to know if I was capable of the 'spicier' side of things. Turns out I was!
Now I only write erotic romance, as I love the freedom you get from not stopping at the bedroom door.
Can you tell our readers a little about your writing? What genres do you enjoy writing?
JC - I write a little fantasy on the side, under another name, but 'JC' is solely erotic romance at the moment. Within that genre, though, I intend to write in quite a few sub-genres (MF, MM, shifters, etc.)
What do you find to be the most difficult part of writing, any writing pet peeves?
JC - I find the hardest part is the edits. The first pass isn't so bad, but each subsequent one gets trickier.
As for writing pet peeves, it has to be writing queries and synopses! I find it very difficult to distill my writing down to the very basics
Where do you get your inspiration?
JC - I read a heck of a lot, which always helps, but most of my ideas come from the shower. :o)
Do you write one novel at a time or do you move between works in progress?
JC - It varies. Sometimes I'll work on only one story, and other times I'll have two or three on the go at one time. That's what it's like at the moment. I'm working on a MM, a longer MF, and a fantasy, all at once.
Would you consider your writing style to be that of a plotter or a pantster?
JC - I'm a plotter, but I need to plan less each time I write something new. When I started writing, my plans were almost as long as my stories, as I needed to work out every single little detail. Now I'm down to two or three sentences a chapter, and I think in a year or two I'll be down to winging it/pantsing.
Can you tell us a little about your book(s)?
JC - Sure! One Wild Weekend is a story about Bobby and her partner, Chris. Their relationship isn't going to well of late, and after a suggestion from her workmate, they head off for a long weekend of exploring each other's desires, in an attempt to rekindle their love.
It's my first foray into erotic romance, and I have to admit that I loved writing it.
Where can our readers find you on the web and where can they buy your books?
JC - You can find me at my blog, at www.jcholly.blogspot.com, and my books are available at Total E-Bound.

New contract and upcoming guest blogger
After a long hiatus from writing, (lets call it graphic arts distraction), I sent my short story, the sequel to Seamless, off to Breathless Press. They have offered me a contract, which I am in the process of signing. This story will be a little bit longer, a little bit hotter, and yes, the spider, of course, is the star. I'll have cover art, blurbs, and release date info some point soon.
I'm currently working on a short project with a fellow author whom I highly respect, on a project I find very exciting. It's a paranormal, erotic, and the premise is one heck of an idea (a publisher theme with many authors writing into it). I'm actually writing on two of those projects now that I think of it.
Until then, I have a guest author interview scheduled to be featured on my blog. More details to come.

Progress
For those who haven't heard from me for a while, but who have been wondering on my whereabouts... I've been working, working, working. Mostly I've been doing graphic designs, cover art, etc...
I still have quite a bit of work ahead of me yet, but there is a window of hope that I will return to the story plotting end of the book industry soon. I'm catching up. I have w.i.p I'm thinking about daily, characters who are still pining for one another, raunchy scenarios that just can't float around in my head and my head only.
Thanks for sticking with me, and for those who have inquired as to where I squirreled myself away to.

Selena Blake's Guilty Secret
I have a guilty secret.
I don't always rate the books I read. Even if I really love them. Chalk it up to laziness, busyness, and/or confusion. Between Amazon, Goodreads, Shelfari, LibraryThing, etc the options are overwhelming.
Why is this a confession? A guilty secret? I feel like a fraud. I encourage my friends to rate the books they read. I like knowing what others thought about a particular book. I rely on others opinions. I often ask for recommendations. Occasionally I ask my readers to rate they books they read because just like my friends, I value my readers opinions.
Why does it matter? Maybe it doesn't to everyone. I asked a handful of readers if they notice a book's rating before they buy. Most said no. Several said occasionally they'll consult the ratings.
I must not be able to help myself. When I shop on Amazon I always look at the rating. It's a reflex I guess. If it's an author or company I'm not familiar with those rankings impact my first impression. If I'm really curious I'll look at reviews.
So this year, I'm making more of an effort to pick a site (Goodreads) and rate the books I read. Perhaps my ratings will help other readers make an informed decision.
Do ratings matter to you?
Selena Blake writes erotic paranormal and contemporary romance. First published in 2008, her series Stormy Weather has been on the best seller lists and nominated for awards. A gypsy at heart, Selena combines her love of travel and learning to create memorable characters and enchanting settings.
